Detroit Soul Collective

Detroit Soul Collective are a collection of some of the finest musicians and singers available in the music industry today. They come together to share their love of good soul music from artists such as Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson, Chaka Khan and Amy Winehouse.

Individually the musicians have worked with artists such as Madonna, Sam Smith, Beverley Knight, One Direction, Stormzy, Adele and together they can be seen at festivals all over Europe and here at The Rhodehouse. For this performance the band will be stripped back to the rhythm section and featuring the soulful satin vocals of Vicki Nash.

The energy these guys share when on a stage together is mesmerising and not to be missed.

The Rhodehouse Presents: Wolf Apple

Wolf Apple

Wolf Apple are a duo from Wolverhampton comprising singer-songwriter Griff and bass-player Gaz. Their original songs are intriguing and they always enjoy performing live.

Griff’s songs often seem lyrically straightforward but are frequently laced with wry humour, a barbed edge or intense romanticism, inspired by classic English songwriting. The songs tackle human themes of depression, heartbreak, observational storytelling and sometimes even contentment.

Gaz is an accomplished bass player, with extensive live experience whose artful bass lines complement Griff’s charming and inventive guitar work. Together the music is melodic and taut, ranging from acoustic-rock to alternative.

Their songs have been variously compared to: The Beatles, The Smiths, Lou Reed, R.E.M., Frank Turner, Radiohead, Paul Heaton & Elliot Smith.

“UK audiences and music lovers are truly the most passionate in the world, and our goal as a tribute band, is to delight them every moment we’re on stage”.

Fleetwood Mad came together 4 years ago with the ambition to become the UK’s best loved Fleetwood Mac tribute band. And from the very first rehearsal, we knew the chemistry and passion of the 6 individuals involved was something special.

We’ve worked hard on reproducing and perfecting the sound and performances of the rock icons we admire most. From the early ‘Peter Green’ blues influenced songs like Green Manalishi and Oh Well, right through to ‘Stevie Nicks’ solo numbers and collaborations, we’ve built a catalogue of great songs and performances that we hope our audiences will love.

From our opening number, to our final encore, we put everything we have into each and every performance. It’s truly inspiring to see people of all ages singing along and reveling in the atmosphere of a great night out. Nothing trills us more than the smiles and applause that our audiences reward us with.

The passion for Fleetwood Mac’s music continues to astonish us. Audiences across the UK appreciate classic performances of iconic songs like Dreams, Go Your Own Way and The Chain. With the 1977 Rumours album selling over 40 million copies, they clearly appealed to a lot of people.

Many of our audience members have become great friends, which is something we’re truly proud of and with more than 100 live performances behind us, we’re still just as excite to share our passion for Fleetwood Mac’s music with more live music lovers.

The Daisychain

The Daisychain – a new band from Wolverhampton.

We are: Rick Williams on guitar and vocals and Hayley Donkersley on vocals.

Rick has played in bands around Wolverhampton for many years, always having written songs and The Daisychain feels like a new exciting venture. The Daisychain formed during lockdown around August 2019 after a chance conversation on a night

out pre-lockdown. We found that our voices sounded really great together and Hayley’s voice brought that something extra to the songs. We always play our own songs, written by Rick, that have a very English sensibility to them, drawing on as influence particularly English writers like Ray Davies, Paul Heaton, Nick Lowe or Chris Difford. Songs that come under the broad umbrella of pop music but incorporating lots of styles from folk to rock to country. We aim for songs with a great hook or chorus or memorable lyric about people and places that we hope everyone will relate to. Songs about everyday people we all recognise.

We played our first gig at The Newhampton Arts Centre in Wolverhampton in September to great

acclaim. We have spent time at Beatsabar Studios in Wolverhampton recently recording our first CD E.P. This is called To Be Me, and we’re thrilled with the results. The E.P. is available to buy via our Facebook page: @daisychainmusic. We will of course have copies to sell when we play at The Rhodehouse on the 19 th November.

Signing Off UB40 Tribute

Signing Off is a result of the determination of a friendly group of musicians and UB40 fans to bring

a fresh new tribute dedicated to replication of the live sound of their idols. The band was formed

in 2015 and their first debut gig was in 2016. Signing Off prides itself on setting out to thrill fans

with a noticeable representation of UB40's original dub, reggae sound from their debut album

"Signing Off" (from which the band takes its name), as well as appealing to more casual fans with

hits such as Red Red Wine, Can't Help Falling In Love and Kingston Town. Signing Off have even

been praised by UB40 themselves for not just playing the hits, but playing songs that only

hardcore UB40 fans will recognise.

With an emphasis on tight musicianship and a passionate study by each member of their role in

emulating their counterpart in the real UB40, we're sure Signing Off has become the number one

live tribute to the UK's premier reggae act of all time.

We are looking forward to playing our upcoming show at The Rhodehouse in Sutton Coldfield on

Sunday 14th November!

We have been enjoying performing as the UK's leading 4-piece Take That tribute since 2013, and we are all fans of the group and their music.

Our set list includes all the Take That hits you know and love from the band's amazing 30-year career. These range from the 90s classics Pray, Back for Good and Never Forget to more recent hits including Greatest Day, Shine and Rule The World. We constantly evolve our show as Take That release new music and tours, with Cry, New Day and Everlasting bringing us right up to date. There might even be a few dance routines thrown in!

We like to bring our own brand of fun, humour and audience participation to our shows and we are very appreciative of our loyal fanbase who return gig after gig.

We are ambassadors of the children's charity Amy and Friends, supporting children with a rare growth disorder. We have also worked with and raised money for many local and national charities.

Take@That have performed all over the UK and abroad, building up a reputation as one of the country’s top tribute acts. We are looking forward to playing at The Rhodehouse on Sunday 28th November and entertaining Sutton Coldfield.

The Mighty Boing are an energetic, all-action 5 piece cover band from the Midlands. Playing classic cover songs with a twist of TMB and a sprinkling of ska stamped all over them, on a mission to entertain and have some fun.

TMB are substance wrapped with individuality, proficiently armed with an array of catchy harmony-filled music, whilst visually taking you along for the ride on their manic antics. It’s live music and a passionate performance that will get you stomping with their own brand of originality and rewritten classics.

Formed out of the murky depths of ska & indie with a lifetime of music appreciation since smash hits reigned supreme, The Mighty Boing cover a wide variety of music from ska to indie, with a dash of 60’s to the present day, taking songs and putting their own TMB style to them.

The show also includes the only replica of Rick Bucklers ‘Great White’ drum kit & features their own brass section!

Every effort is placed into reproducing the sound, arrangements and energy of a Jam gig. Those who saw The Jam live will remember the electricity, aggression, passion, and even fashion on stage, something not always prevalent in today’s world, but to The Jam’d, it is a passion, a mission, and an honour to play for fans of “the best band in the f#@*ing world!”

The band started around 2016, since then we've had a few line up changes and even a name change!

Anyway, now we're back to living in an 'Ordinary World' again, DURAN DURANish are so looking forward to playing The Rodehouse for the 1st time on 2nd October. In the short time it's been open it already has a fabulous reputation (we expected nothing less with Andy behind it) and we can't wait to get on that stage and hit the audience with as many Duran Duran hits as possible from their vast back catalogue. with DURAN DURAN recently headlining the Isle of wight Festival, they are on everyone's radar again so it's gonna be a fabulous night.....the best on Planet Earth!

Lead Vocals

Robert Greening AKA Simon Le Bob;

An experienced singer and front man, Rob has been singing in bands for 25 years, performing all over the UK, Europe and more recently in Russia! He’s an advocate of live music in general and has campaigned for the fairer treatment of music venues. It’s clear to see Rob is a lifelong Duran Duran fan, he can clearly remember buying Rio in Woolworths with his pocket money.

Guitar

Phil Docker ’Doc’; A true guitar legend! Phil is a well established guitar player having been playing professionally for over 30 years. He’s not just a guitar player though; he’s also able to fix any guitar that needs some ‘tlc’, so playing with guitars is definitely what he does best both night and day. When he doesn’t have a guitar in his grasp you will find him playing with a pinball machine or at home with his beloved dogs Holly & Coco.

Keyboards

Aaron B. Thompson

Aaron may be younger than DURAN DURAN’s first album but from being young age he knew playing the ‘key’s’ was his calling. He hasn’t looked back since his first band when he was just 14. Now a highly acclaimed ‘pianist’ as well as being a whizz on the keyboards, he loves electronic sounds and prides himself on re-creating the right sound for DURAN DURANish. Aaron is also a popular session musician and also teaches in his s pare time. Aaron is also a huge coffee fan, when he’s on the road he’s always looking for the perfect, proper cup of coffee!

Bass

Marc Williams;

Mark is without doubt a fully rounded bass player, able to cover almost any style and is known by some as the human jukebox (he’s great to take to a party!) Teamed with Stevie on Drums together they’re a force to be reckoned with. Marc works hard on stage but likes to unwind after a gig with a pint of lager not carling though, that’s too weak and gassy. He wants a pint that packs a punch, just like his bass playing so prefers Stella or kronenbourg.

Drums

Stevie Higgs AKA Goldilocks

The driving force behind DURAN DURANish who never misses a beat. Playing since the age of 11, he first played in school production is and then moved on to a punk band (much to his mother’s horror). At 17 he left home to go on tour with New Romantic band The Heart Beats with ex Specimen Players, He’s recorded albums and toured with Rattlesnake Kiss, has been a session player and toured Europe. Playing Duran Duran is a lifelong ambition of Stevie’s so he jumped at the chance to be part of the band.

Backing Vocals

Natalie ‘Natz’ Kidman

Natz has been singing pretty much since she could breathe, she was in her first band at the age of 11 and hasn’t looked back since. Natz has performed all over the world to audiences from 35 people to 35,000, recorded tracks as her alter ego (Kitty) and has a bit of a thing for bling! Being in DURAN DURANish is her dream job, not just because it meant her youth spent learning DD lyrics wasn’t so misspent after all but because she gets to have an excuse to wear sparkly things.

The first two decades of rock and roll drenched in psychedelic rain

Since forming in 2019 Melvin, Matt and Tony have achieved much in a short space of time, recording two albums of originality and popularity of their own compositions also appearing on the "Fruits der Mer" records "The Half Time Orange" sampler. They're one of the hardest working live bands in the country with interviews and in house sessions for Pete Feenstra & The Blues and Beyond radio shows and most recently being featured on BBC Radio 2's The Blues Show with Cerys Matthews. They're also a venue and festival favourite described as "a whole new sensation" at 2020's "Giant's Of Rock". Their drive, vibe and professionalism guarantees a night to remember.

Born to song writer and playwright Stephen and artist Lynette of late Melvin has had material played on Rick Wakeman’s Planet Rock Show, Zoe Green's Blues and Beyond and most recently on Cerys Matthews BBC Radio 2 Blues Show along with writing and television work.

At Footsteps we aim to give an opportunity to stop and pause, to catch your breath for a moment and consider how your life could be different or more fulfilling.

Often people are carrying burdens they cannot resolve, the burden becomes a worry and eventually you can become immersed in feelings or situations that seem to have power over you, it can reach a point where you feel overwhelmed and cannot see a way forward. Our counselling service provides a confidential, non- judgemental environment for you to explore any issues you may have.

At Footsteps we are passionate about providing our clients with a safe place to explore the issues that are causing problems in their life, we want every child to maximise their potential and believe that early intervention can provide a place of emotional solace and is invaluable in building brighter futures for the younger generation. For a young person, this process may have extra importance since it plays a vital part in providing a positive formative experience. Our aim is to create a respectful relationship where they can learn that they are valued for who they are, trusting and nurturing their ability to find the solutions that improve their symptoms and problems. Our counselling service is centered on the client’s needs in that it is an open-ended service and clients can use as many sessions that are productive and helpful for them.

We believe that the most important thing in life is the quality of our relationships with each other, the wider community and ourselves. We recognise that we all have the need to belong and the right to feel valued, but life events affect our view of the world and can dictate, at times, our reactions. BILLY JOEL TRIBUTE UK

BILLY JOEL TRIBUTE UK is the brainchild of Blackpool-based vocalist, Gaz Jenkins.

Having spent 20 years touring the UK and Europe, Gaz landed the role of Compere at the UK’s longest-running tribute show. It was there, whilst working alongside some of the UK’s finest tribute acts, that he decided to put his own show together, featuring the music of his favourite artiste.

Gaz launched the show in 2019, and quickly established himself as a firm favourite on the tribute

scene, with appearances at Warner Resorts, Bunn Leisure, Pontins, and a number of the UK’s best live entertainment venues. This lead to Gaz being a finalist at the National Tribute Music Awards and only narrowly missing-out on the Best Newcomer prize.

Following the enforced hiatus of 2020, Gaz relaunched in 2021 with a brand new theatre show –

Keeping The Faith – as well booking a month-long Australian tour in March 2022.

The show itself is a non-stop journey through Billy Joel’s 50-year career, featuring all of the biggest

hits from his studio albums, incorporated with elements of his massively-successful tours and stage productions, with costume changes and plenty of audience participation.

The Killaz UK – A tribute to The Killers

There is nothing quite like seeing a band perform their hits live!

The atmosphere and excitement of seeing the crowd and the band bounce off one another back and forth throughout a show is one of the most enjoyable aspects of seeing any live band.

Growing up listening to The Killers’ awesome discography and then comparing their live performances of their hit songs have always proven to have a night and day difference, there is no doubt that the records are epic in scale and have always provided catchy hooks and lyrics for us all to remember but when you actually watch them play live it’s like the songs themselves have been given a shot of adrenaline!

Every synth and guitar chord engulfs the room and each drum hit gives a new dynamic and edge that just can’t be created in the studio. Then there’s the iconic crowd interaction that The Killers have flawlessly incorporated into their set, hearing the crowd sing back in response is a feeling like no other. This is what we wanted to recreate as a tribute to the live shows that The Killers play.

Bringing a completely new way to experience the Killers, The Killaz UK are the ultimate tribute to the live shows of the Killers. By replicating the energy that The Killers produce in their live shows, The Killaz UK can interact with crowds in a completely organic way.

For further authenticity, The Killaz UK bring a replica of the Killers famous ‘K’ sign, complete with multi-channel light setup synchronised to the show. The Killaz UK create a powerful multi-layered sound that brings to life even the most complex Killers songs.

SUTTON COLDFIELD TUNELESS CHOIR

Tuneless Choirs are for those who LOVE singing but lack the ability, practice or confidence to do so. We sing purely for the pleasure of it , there’s no pressure to hit the right note or get it right, no judgement, no need to improve – just confidence - boosting fun and plenty of laughs if we get it wrong, it’s very liberating!

It gives us lots of smiles, laughs, community and a feeling of ‘upliftedness’ – essential ingredients as we emerge from a pandemic and see a return to normality. We enjoy an extensive mix of popular songs from Abba and the Beatles to Coldplay and Elbow – and just about everything in between so always something for everyone!

Pre - covid the choir attract ed between over 100 people a week – that’s a whole lotta bad singing going on! During the pandemic we continued singing badly online & as restrictions eased we have been singing outdoors since June . We are now looking forward to returning to the United Reformed Church in Sutton town centre from 7th September and new members are very welcome!

As well as regular choir sessions on a Tuesday , we sing at local events and also have social nights, theatre trips & workshops & since launching in May 2016 we have developed a really lovely community. So, if you have ever been told you can’t sing, or if you mime at weddings and funerals because you’re not confident enough to sing, come and try the Tuneless Choir where you can enjoy ‘singing like no one is listening’ and have a wail of a time!

The Burlesque Company

The Burlesque Company’s latest show at Sutton Coldfield’s Rhodehouse this month will be a mix of burlesque and drag, glamour and comedy, talent and suspense! Burlesque is an art and entertainment all about celebrating the body, striptease, and the absolute excitement of them all! Combined with drag - an art all about playing with gender and pushing the boundaries of creativity – this makes for an explosive and enjoyable cabaret show!

The Burlesque Company was founded in Birmingham in 2011 by burlesque performer and show producer Pixie Amore. It’s aim has always been to create fabulous nights for everyone with entertainment, empowerment and accessibility built into them. This means that everyone is welcome to be a part of the audience or performing cast. Not only are the best local artists supported and featured from a wide range of backgrounds, skills and styles, but each show is designed so that the audience is valued and welcomed! It matters hugely to Pixie that shows are safe and exciting spaces for people of all backgrounds, are excellent value for money, and have a real sense of community!

Over the years Pixie Amore, known by Amy Louise, has started other projects included her own tattoo studio (The Tattooed Gent in Erdington), and now has her eyes firmly set on taking The Burlesque Company up yet another level with a new series of shows. Erasured

Mark and Pete met in 1996 when they both gravitated to Manchester, producing two albums of original material together.

After Mark appeared on ITV’s “Stars In Their Eyes” in 1995 (and again for the Christmas special in 1996) as Erasure’s Andy Bell, it was suggested by a mutual friend they should consider performing as an Erasure tribute band.

They toured the tribute circuit for a further 10 years, including a number of Pride festivals, performing with the likes of Hazel Dean, Adam Rickett and Sonia.

After 10 years of hard gigging the fun just wasn’t there anymore, and both Mark and Pete remained firm friends but diversified into other areas of the music industry.

Then in 2018 Mark and Pete were invited to recreate the recent arena gigs Robbie Williams had done with Erasure. They agreed to do the gig as a ‘one off’ for nostalgia’s sake. The show was a huge success and they again found their passion for Erasure music, and started touring again, with new technology and new outfits!

The Reggulites

The Reggulites are a Birmingham based reggae band and that established in 2018.

Our singer is Sugar, so named for his sweet voice and lovely personality. Our two horn players are sisters - Anna and Helen. As a band we enjoy putting our own unique style on the music we recreate. We play some roots reggae classics right up to modern day music. As a band, we try to cater for everyone member's personality in the songs we cover, and therefore we have a really interesting mix in the set list.

Above everything else, we LOVE what we do, and we love each other like family, and this is what usually comes across when we're on stage. It's all about fun, good vibes and bringing that bit of sunshine into your life. We absolutely can't wait to rock the brand new stage at The Rhodehouse and be part of a new venue for our local area.

It's been a long lockdown and we can't wait to have this performance as our debut back onto the stage!

West Coast Eagles

The music of the Eagles is timeless and has influenced many artists over the past 45 years. It does not easily fit into any category yet within it you can hear a subtle blend of pop, rock, country and a style all of their own. To contemplate a tribute show to a band of this calibre and with such a legacy of songs, is a daunting task indeed. Yet this is exactly what “West Coast Eagles” have done. Formed in late 2014 the band have built a reputation of superb precision musicianship and layered with superb vocal harmonies.

Each member of the band has been working in the music industry for over 30 years with many top name cabaret, show band and tribute acts. Names such as Tears, Sight n Sound, Jackie Graham, Quill, Desperado and Lack of Commitment to name but a few.

The love of great music, musicianship, fabulous harmony vocals and a sheer enjoyment of playing. Have been bought together in one package. “West Coast Eagles”.

Brad Henshaw's 'I Got This' Tour

Before becoming a country artist, North Carolina resident Brad Henshaw has staked his claim in the music industry producing shows such as, Blues Brothers Approved, Rhinestone Cowboy and Road Kings aswell as working with some of the biggest names in the industry; Sean Coombs (P.Diddy), Whitney Houston, Buddy Guy, Blur, Richard Ashcroft, UB40, Rod Stewart, Roy Wood, Michael Bolton, Slade, Shirley Bassey and Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

Described by Jimmy Webb as “a truly wonderful voice and a great songwriter himself”, Henshaw has performed at renowned events like, MTV World awards, MTV European awards, MOBO awards and multiple world-wide USSO Tours. His debut single “I Got This” organically blends traditional and pop country, with its classic storytelling and modern country sound it’s set it up to be country hit.

True Gold ‘The Spandau Ballet Experience’

True Gold began life way back in 2005, when founding member Lee James put an advert out for musicians, which would form into a Spandau Ballet tribute band known as Highly Strung. The band split in 2010, only to reform after many requests to do so, under the new name of True Gold 'The Spandau Ballet Experience'.

The band is now sounding, and looking better than ever! Having performed in 100's of venues over the years, they have courted much praise from renowned artists.

True Gold are the 'official' Spandau Ballet tribute band having received praise from none other than Spandau's very own Gary Kemp, Steve Norman & Tony Hadley!

True Gold have performed twice with Tony, the second time coming in 2014 when

Lee & Tony sang together on BBC's The One Show.

As Gary Kemp once said after seeing a photo of True Gold performing "Double Take! Is that Tony up there???”

We are very much looking forward to playing at The Rhodehouse on Saturday 24th July! We will be playing all the Spandau classics and more!
